Frequently Asked Questions
Where do you ship to? How much does it cost? When will it arrive?
Currently we ship everywhere in Canada only. As for rates and ETAs, please refer to our Shipping section HERE.
When do my items ship?
All items are shipped out the Wednesday of their release via Canada Post.
What does Weekly, Bi-Weekly, and Monthly mean in regards to subscriptions?
You can either have a comic series shipped weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. If you choose monthly, all the various titles you are subscribed to will be shipped on the last week of the month or on the release date of your last shipping comic. If you choose bi-weekly, all your subscriptions that you have selected as such will be grouped into two shipments per month. Your initial order will charge you for only one week's worth of shipping. If you select bi-weekly, we will send you an invoice for the additional week shipping cost near the shipment date. If you select weekly, we will send you an invoice each week that a new shipment will be occuring to cover the additional shipping charges. If you ever want to change your subscription shipping method from one choice to another, please contact us at email@example.com.
What happens if I order single issues that have multiple release dates?
We will not ship the items until they are all released. We ask that you either group your cart with this in mind or be prepared to wait. If you purchase multiple items and later want to break the shipments up, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can arrange for you to be charged additional shipping costs.
My item is damaged when I received it. What do I do?
Contact us at email@example.com either directly through e-mail or using our Contact Us form. Make sure to include the Order Number plus the problem and we will help resolve the issue.
How come the prices on your site do not match the cover price of the comic?
The prices on the comics are in US pricing and due to the difference between the dollars, the prices on our site reflect this. The basic price for a comic translates as follows:
$2.99 US = $3.99 CAN
$3.50 US = $4.75 CAN
$3.99 US = $5.50 CAN
$4.99 US = $6.99 CAN
When am I charged for my item?
As soon as you purchase an item your card/account is charged.
What forms of payment do you accept?
PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
How do I pay for a subscription title?
For all subscription options we insist that you have a PayPal account and pay using it. You will be charged for the first issue and we will subsequently send you a PayPal invoice when it is time to pay for the next one. Only once we have received payment will we ship the next issue.
What are the benefits of being a subscriber and how does it work?
Please see our Subscription Service section HERE.
If I am not a subscriber, what do I get in terms of discounts?
You will receive 10% off of the regular price for all comics.
How do I end my subscription for a title?
You can cancel your subscription to a title as long as you do it before the next issue's final order cutoff. All you have to do is contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know the title you want to drop. We will send you a confirmation e-mail in response.
Do you offer refunds?
Due to the nature of what we are selling, we do not offer any refunds.
If I see something in the current month's PREVIEWS but do not see it on your site, can you still order it for me?
Contact us at email@example.com and let us know the item you are interested in. If it is available to ship into Canada, we would be happy to bring it in for you.
Can you order older trades and back issues?
If you do not see a title listed, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know the item you are interested in. If it is still available, we would be happy to bring it in for you.
What is your connection to hourglasscomics.ca?
Hourglasscomics.ca is the website for the physical store we are associated with which is based out of Port Moody, British Columbia. The physical store was founded in November 1993, by Simon Chadwick and a partner, after their local comic store closed. By 1996, Simon was able to buy out his partner and run the business by himself. The physical store is not only known for its extensive selection of new comics, games and toys, but has one of the largest selections of back issues in the Lower Mainland.
Timestream Comics is an offshoot of the store created to service a broader range of customers and as such should be treated as a separate entity. This means that you should not contact the store for inquires about your orders purchased through this online site. Sales, prices, and subscription rewards that occur on the website will not match the physical store either.
